The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), through its ProPFR (Promotion of Responsible Land Policy) project, engaged Inawa Institute to update the databases of the ASG using existing digital systems in five Communes of the Borgou Department in Benin: Bembéréké, Kalalé, N’Dali, Sinendé, and Tchaourou.
From September to October 2021, the Inawa Institute team worked closely with the Heads of Land and Environmental Affairs Departments (C/SADE) in the five Communes to update their digital databases and dashboards within the Land Management Information System (EGes.2.0). This activity improved the reliability and accessibility of land information while strengthening monitoring and evaluation mechanisms under the ProPFR project.
Launched in 2016 under GIZ’s SEWOH initiative, ProPFR supports land tenure security for households in Borgou. The project’s overall objective is to improve access to secure land rights as a key driver in combating poverty and food insecurity in rural areas, particularly among vulnerable groups such as women, pastoralists, and migrants.
