Mirabelle Nekoua, a fellow of the Inawa Skoon Fellowship, has been selected as a GKS Scholar 2026 under the Global Korea Scholarship. She begins a PhD in Data Science at Hoseo University, in South Korea, in September 2026.
Mirabelle leaves Inawa with the full range of a research assistant’s skills, and with the working habits that carry them. She learned to prioritize a varied workload and hold to deadlines, and to speak both to stakeholders and on panels and to take the initiative on unfamiliar tasks. Adaptability runs through all of it, from new tools to new methods.
The Inawa Skoon Fellowship is the Institute’s fully funded twelve-month immersion as a research assistant for young graduates. Mirabelle Nekoua went through its 2025-2026 cohort alongside Stévie R. Amalin, Emérick Guéguéhoun, and Ridwane Lawani. A PhD in data science extends the line of work she followed here: knowledge produced to be used.
