From November 22 to 26, 2021, at the Hotel Terra Nostra in Ouidah, executives of the Direction G\u00e9n\u00e9rale des Impots (DGI) benefited from capacity building on the in-depth use of STATA software for their works in modeling, forecasting and simulation of tax revenues.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
This five-day workshop, led by two experts in statistics and economics from the Inawa Institute, was initiated by the DGI and supported by the project \u00ab Appui \u00e0 la R\u00e9forme des Finances publiques pour l\u2019atteinte des ODD et le Renforcement de la Mobilisation des recettes de l\u2019Etat” (ReFORME project). The project is a module of the German technical cooperation (GIZ). It started on January 4, 2021 and will last for two years.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
During these five days of training, in the presence of representatives of the ReFORME project and the DGI, the participants of the Tax Policy Unit (UPF) are equipped with modern tools that will allow them to broaden the methodological choices for economic studies and analyses. The trained executives return to their offices satisfied and are now able to proceed with the 2.0 evaluation of tax expenditures in the years to come. In this case, they will be able to estimate certain tax expenditure exemptions using econometric models. As a result, the evaluation rate of tax expenditures will improve significantly, thus achieving a broader scope of evaluation.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
